Just had a look at the self-hypnosis section of my blog and realised that I haven't posted on there for over two years! Time is the one thing that all of us share, my sixty seconds is the same as your sixty seconds, and time passes whether we master it or use it as an excuse.
What is self-hypnosis? Self-hypnosis is the ability to give yourself suggestions that your conscious mind and common sense would usually reject. This can be extremely beneficial in many areas of your daily life including becoming more motivated, more confident, sleeping better, managing and/or losing weight, experiencing pain relief, pure relaxation and many other areas.
How do you learn it? By experiencing hypnosis. Some people teach themselves but my view is that you should visit a hypnotherapist first of all so that you know how wonderful it feels and so you can recognise what you are achieving on your own. Don't see anyone that tells you that you may not feel any different in hypnosis to how you feel in normal everyday life, that is lame and inexcusable in my humble opinion. See a hypnotherapist that can show you how great you can feel, who can show you how you can make yourself go “wow”, see a hypnotherapist who can show you how you have all the abilities within yourself to create wonderful thoughts, feelings and emotions incredibly easily and powerfully.
Once you have experienced hypnosis you can then embark on the adventure yourself. The more you do it the better you get, the better the benefits.
Hypnosis is not a fragile state. You can be sat on a blanket in the park, sat on a tube train, be a passenger in a car, sat at your desk at work, in fact be anywhere where it is safe, comfortable and appropriate for you to experience self-hypnosis. Again, if you want to learn self-hypnosis by seeing a hypnotherapist first, avoid seeing anyone that tells you that you must be laying down, head on a pillow and covered in a blanket to take yourself in to hypnosis. That concept is nearly as old fashioned as having someone look at a spot on the wall until their eyes get tired.
Self-hypnosis is a safe, comfortable and natural way to increase good thoughts, feelings and emotions. If learnt properly, you can whizz yourself down in to a beautiful state of deep hypnosis within 30 seconds. Easily. Every time.
I am showing more and more of my clients how to use and enjoy self-hypnosis so I'll make sure I use my time wisely to get some more suggestions posted in the self-hypnosis category.
